Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Rum 138 has the following policies and procedures at our business in place to ensure a safe experience for our staff, for you & for your party. During this time, we will be monitoring our procedures closely and make adjustments accordingly. Please look to our website or Facebook page for regular updates.
- Facial masks will be required to ride on the buses and for check in interactions with our staff. Please bring a zip tight baggie to keep your mask dry during your paddle trip for the return bus service.
- 6 foot physical distancing is required on our premises. You will find several yellow X’s on the deck to help you maintain this protective distance.
- Temperatures will be taken with an infrared thermometer scanner before you enter the deck area or bus. Anyone found with a temperature of 100.5 or higher will be turned away. Please take personal responsibility and monitor your own health prior to your visit here. Before visiting with us, take your temperature in the evening between 4 pm and 9 pm and also before you leave your home. If you are experiencing any illness such as cough, shortness of breath, sneezing, fatigue and fever, please stay home.
- Restrooms, clean porta-potties and a handwashing sink are outside for our customers. The indoor bathrooms are closed for use. There are sanitation wipes located at the outdoor restrooms, if you need them too. Please dispose of all sanitation wipes and plastic gloves in trash cans (not into the septic systems).
- Check in will take place outside on the deck. The building interior is closed. If possible, we encourage you to pay in advance when you make your reservation over the phone to limit your exposure to our staff and others. At the moment we do not have this process available through the website, but look for it in the near future.
- Handling equipment, you will be required to handle your paddle and life jacket before and after the trip to place in the transportation racks. At least one person will be needed to help the driver handle and load the vessel onto the transportation rack at the end of the trip.
- Liability waiver for rental equipment and shuttle service must be signed during check in.
- Explanations of your paddling trip are available. Please ask for details of your trip with the check in attendant, then step aside and we will have another staff member explain the trip in detail with your group.
- Seating on bus, for large groups, we will only carry a maximum of 9 people per bus and small groups will be spaced accordingly on the bus. Wait times will vary for delivery and pick up.
- Reservations are required; please call us to make one. 386-454-4247
- Schedule rental trips on the hour and 1/2 hour. Kayak, canoe and paddleboards trips are scheduled between 9 am and 1 pm. Please call us for shuttling your vessel by appointment.
